PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulation structure for an exhaust pipe securing a sufficient gap for inserting a tool for attaching an oxygen sensor therein and capable of preventing intrusion of oil or the like from the gap and preventing thermal degradation of an oxygen sensor. SOLUTION: In a heat insulation structure for the exhaust pipe covering the exhaust pipe 10 connected to an engine of a vehicle by an insulating plate 20 and having the oxygen sensor 30 fixed on an attachment hole 11 of the exhaust pipe 10 via an insertion opening 21 formed on the insulating plate 20, an insulating plate 40 is provided between the oxygen sensor 30 and the attachment hole 11, and a gap between the insertion opening 21 and the attachment hole 11 is closed by extending the insulating plate 40 toward the insertion opening 21.
