FIELD: mechanical engineering; rail butt joints. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for improving design of rail butt joints and in devices with rolling guides. Rail butt joint is provided with fishplates and bolt joints of fishplates and rails. End parts of rails are provided with insert of trapezoidal cross-section and axial stops of insert arranged in slots of heads of rails with cross-section representing cross-section of insert. Upper surface of insert coincides with flat surfaces of rail heads, and end face surfaces of insert are in contact with springy lips of stops made of steel. ^ EFFECT: reduced dynamic loads in rail butt joints, improved reliability of track. ^ 2 dwg
