<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer printer which can carry out color printing by a printing time equivalent to that of normal single-color printing by using a single ink ribbon, and can shorten a printing time. <P>SOLUTION: The printer is configured to color by dividing one pixel, arranging coloring matters 1a of YMC to make different colors adjoining each other, and thermally dissolving the coloring matters required for pixel data by heating elements 6.
