PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange an antenna invariably at an optimal position as well as reducing an energy of a vehicle passenger when standing and housing the antenna. SOLUTION: An antenna assembly 1 arranges a base end 2b of an antenna 2 in a freely oscillating manner at base members (frame bodies) 9, 10 fixed to the vehicle. The antenna assembly 1 is equipped with a motor 3 for turning the base end 2b and a clutch mechanism that is arranged between the motor 3 and the base end 2b and disengages the clutch when a given load is applied to the base end 2b. The clutch mechanism is equipped with a clutch key 2c and a clutch groove 4c that are arranged in an elastic contact state to each other. The antenna 2 turns to an anterior retractable position where a posture of the antenna nearly horizontally housed toward the front of the vehicle is maintained, a usually used position where the posture of the antenna raised nearly upward the vehicle is maintained, and a posterior retractable position where the posture of the antenna nearly horizontally housed backward the vehicle is maintained.
