PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique to reduce the production costs of electro-optic devices. SOLUTION: This is an electro-optic device which has a display area having basic pixels containing various color pixels arranged in a matrix and whose display area is driven by progressive scanning. It includes circuit chips (16) provided for every two basic pixels arranged adjacent each other in the vertical scanning direction to control them out of the basic pixels, wiring conductors (the scanning lines 51, 524, the data line 41R, the power source line 53R, etc.), and connection terminals provided between these conductors and the circuit chips (63). Out of the drive circuits in the circuit chips, the connection terminals corresponding to the circuit chips and the data lines are used in common for the two drive circuits of the color pixels of the same color of the basic pixels adjacent to each other.
