Method for the determination of the response caracteristic and sensitivity of an oxygen sensor in a measuring device

Determining the response and sensitivity of an oxygen sensor comprises, instead of using a test gas, applying a test current to the sensor serially to the signal voltage during measurement and comparing the result with a corresponding value on a calibration curve in dependence on the oxygen concentration measured before or after applying the test current. Independent claims are also included for: (1) measuring device with an oxygen sensor whose response and sensitivity are determined as above; (2) software program product in which the measures of the above method are stored in memory in such a way that the method can be performed as described on reading the measures are read into a device as above.
