The installation switch device (10) has a main current path (18) comprising a series connection of a first contact point (11), a magnetic armature (40), a second contact point (19) and a main thermal bimetallic trigger (36). A parallel current path is arranged parallel to the first contact point and includes a current limiter resistor (16) and a second thermal trigger (20). The two triggers can hold the first contact point open via a switch lock. The main trigger has a faster release or trigger action at higher bimetallic currents than for lower currents. Independent claims also cover a thermal actuator.
