A METHOD FOR PREPARING BETA-CAROTENE

Provided is in the method the preparation of beta-carotene from micro-algae Dunaliella salina by passing the cells suspension under pressure through the channel with local narrowing and collection of beta-carotene directly from the suspension processed by a pressure jump. At that the pressure jump magnitude is varied depending on salt concentration in the cultural medium. The method provides a partial destruction of cell membrane and release of globules with beta-carotene saving viability cells suitable for subsequent cultivation.
