<p>The invention relates to a method for reforming nonpolar hydrocarbons in supercritical water involving the following steps: a) feeding water into a compression zone and compressing it to a pressure p1; b) feeding the compressed water into a heating zone and heating it to a temperature T1, whereby the water is in a supercritical state at pressure p1 and temperature T1; c) compressing the hydrocarbons to pressure p1 and feeding them into the supercritical water whereby resulting in the formation of a supercritical water/hydrocarbon mixture; d) permitting the supercritical water/hydrocarbon mixture to react in a reaction zone under supercritical conditions and in the presence of a catalyst, whereby the hydrocarbons react at least partially with water to form carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and hydrogen; e) cooling the product mixture obtained in step d) to a temperature T2 and reducing the pressure to pressure p2, whereby the product mixture is in a subcritical state at temperature T2 and pressure p2; f) separating the gas phase from the liquid aqueous phase, and; g) at least partially returning the aqueous phase into the compression zone, whereby steps a) to g) are continuously carried out.</p> |
