The initiator has a cap (1b) fixed on a case (1a) and containing pyrotechnic charges (19, 21) that are ignited by heating a heat resistant wire (17). The wire is welded through its two ends on two electricity conducting plates (26, 27) of a printed circuit plate (16), on a single assembling chain of the initiator. Two terminals (12, 13) are assembled on the case, and the plates (26, 27) are welded to the terminals. An independent claim is also included for a method of assembling an electro-pyrotechnic initiator.
