<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength multiplex transmission system which makes a line utilizable by other users in a certain time slot on a contract and allows each NE to convert the wavelength in a limited time slot to freely set a route. <P>SOLUTION: In a certain time slot, an NE2 drops wavelengths λa and λb and is through a wavelength λc, and an NE3 is through all wavelengths, this establishing routes from NE1 to NE2, from NE2 to NE4 and from NE1 to NE4. When, in another time slot, a user using the wavelength λa from NE1 to NE2 and another user using the wavelength λb from NE2 to NE4 do not use the routes and another user wishes to use routes from NE1 to NE3 and from NE3 to NE4, the NE2 converts the wavelength λa to λb to be through, and the NE3 re-lays a route so as to drop and add the wavelength λb. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
