PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage of a core member such as a stick-shaped cosmetic in a cylindrical container including an outer cylinder and an inner cylinder, and prevent reduction in thickness of the cylindrical container. SOLUTION: The pencil-shaped container includes the inner cylinder 11 having a plurality of protruding portions 11c or groove portions circumferentially formed on the outer surface, and the outer cylinder 10 having a plurality of groove portions 10c or protruding portions which is formed corresponding to the protruding portions 11c or the groove portions, into which the protruding portions 11c or the groove portions are axially inserted, and with which the protruding portions 11c or the groove portions are engaged so as not to be relatively rotated. The engaging protruding portions 11c and groove portions 10c are formed into a shape restricting the motion of the side surfaces 11d and 10d in the thickness direction to readily prevent the motion in the thickness direction of the protruding portions and groove portions, which is not prevented by side surfaces of a conventional protruding portion and groove portion with substantially rectangular cross-section, to reduce the amount of bent distortion when bending stress is applied to the cylindrical container 20, and the cylindrical container 20 divided into the inner cylinder 11 and the outer cylinder 10 reduces difference in thickness between components of the outer cylinder 10 and inner cylinder 11.
