PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the density more emphasized in a high-density part with the state of a granular feeling not being spoiled in a highlight-area while making a density data of multiple value of each pixel have a meaning, for an ink-jet recording system performing a dot-arrangement patterning processing operation. SOLUTION: The system is composed of a mask pattern and a dot arrangement pattern for which the total of dot number recorded by multi-pass at one pixel becomes equal to a designated dot number exceeding the area number defined as a record of dot at the dot-arrangement patterning processing and, simultaneously, a relationship, such that the designated dot number may increase the more for the pixel having the higher tone level, exists. Thereby, since the dot for making an emphasis with the multi-pass can be given only to the pixel with high tone level, it becomes possible to realize the maximum density and broader tone nature which can be expressed in the whole density area ranging from a high density to a low density with the state of the granular feeling of the pixel not being spoiled.
