PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a gas hydrate in which an energy-saving effect can be expected while suppressing generation of a low pressure gas. SOLUTION: The method for producing a gas hydrate comprising utilizing the cold of a liquified natural gas to remove the heat of formation comprises the steps of boosting the liquified natural gas a with a booster pump 38, recovering the cold possessed by the liquified natural gas after boosting with a cold medium (for example ammonia) n that is not solidified at -50-0°C and at the same time gasifying the liquified natural gas a, recovering power of the energy possessed by a natural gas g after gasified with an expansion turbine 24, introducing the natural gas g after worked in the expansion turbine 24 into a gas hydrate-forming receptacle 44 to form a gas hydrate i, and removing the heat of formation at the formation of the gas hydrate with the cold medium n cooled by the cold of the liquified natural gas.
