It is intended to search for a substance having a promoted angiogenic ability compared with a natural angiogenic peptide (SVVYGLR). Namely, a composition for angiogenesis which contains the sequence VVXGL, wherein X represents a modified aromatic amino acid, and comprises a peptide; a composition for forming a blood vessel network which contains the sequence VVXGL, wherein X represents a modified aromatic amino acid, and comprises a peptide; a method for angiogenesis which comprises administering the above-described composition to a site of a patient with a need for angiogenesis; and a method for blood vessel network formation which comprises administering the above-described composition to a site of a patient with a need for blood vessel network formation.
