<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a cell culture substrate and obtain a cell aggregate after culture in a method for treating the cell culture substrate. <P>SOLUTION: The method for treating the cell culture substrate comprises using a polysaccharide as a substrate, culturing a cell on the substrate, carrying out enzymatic treatment of the polysaccharide and removing the polysaccharide or culturing the cell on the substrate composed of the polysaccharide and a cell adhesion agonist of the cell, carrying out enzymatic treatment of the polysaccharide and removing the polysaccharide. The polysaccharide is preferably chitin or chitosan and the enzyme is lysozyme. According to the present invention, fear of cytotoxicity by decomposition product brought out by the substrate, induction of foreign-body reaction, or the like, caused by residue after decomposition can be removed by embedding the substrate into a human body.
