PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the intensity of a reception radio wave of a radio link establishing request signal at proper intensity, in a radio communication apparatus having a master set and a radio slave set mountable on the master set. SOLUTION: A call is made using the radio slave set (S21), and after that, the call is completed by a button operation (P21). An disconnection signal is transmitted from the radio slave set to the master set (S22), and a radio link from the master set to the radio slave set is released (S23). The intensity value of a reception radio wave just before the radio link release is stored in the storage unit of the radio slave set. The radio slave set is left without being mounted on the master set, and after that, a start button is operated (P22). Upon receiving this button operation, the radio slave set checks the data of reception radio intensity stored in the storage unit (S24). Since the call is completed when the slave set is near the master set, the reception radio intensity stored in the storage unit is "weak". The transmission radio wave intensity of the radio link establishing request signal is set at "weak" (S25), and the radio link establishing request signal in which the transmission radio wave intensity is "weak" is transmitted to the master set (S26).
