PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio signal level control circuit improved in S/N ratio. SOLUTION: The audio signal level control circuit comprises a volume IC in which an audio signal is inputted for attenuating the input audio signal, and an amplifying means for amplifying an output of the volume IC. It further comprises an input means for inputting a volume value, a level down circuit which is provided at a stage subsequent to the volume IC to attenuate the signal inputted in it by a prescribed amount, and a control means which controls a signal attenuation amount at the volume IC based on the volume value inputted by the input means while controlling whether to switch the level down circuit to an active state or to an inactive state.
