PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for a filter, which is small in a scattering amount of phenols and aldehydes, and capable of shortening time of a curing process by its high curing rate, when producing the filter. SOLUTION: The resin composition for the filter comprises a resol type phenol resin whose unreacted phenol monomer content is less than 1 wt.% and is preferably 0.005-0.05 wt.% on the basis of the solid content of the resin, a melamine resin and a curing accelerator.
