<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a process of manufacturing a liquid crystal display device which has a COT structure by laminating and forming a color filter at a position where a black matrix is formed, and then eliminating a process of forming a black matrix to decrease the number of masks. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device to which the present invention is applied includes a substrate, gate lines, data lines, and thin film transistors arranged on the substrate, red color filter layers, green color filter layers, and blue color filter layers which are arranged in pixel regions on the substrate and laminated on the thin film transistors, an organic insulating layer which is arranged to flatten top surfaces of the color filter layers, and pixel electrodes which are arranged on the organic insulating layer in association with the laminated color filter layers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
