<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spatial light modulating apparatus, capable of reducing the recognition of a black matrix image, and of obtaining proper images which are smooth and seamless. <P>SOLUTION: Regarding the spatial light modulating apparatus 130, arranged on an optical path between a projector 100 for emitting projection light and a screen 116 on which the projection light is projected, the apparatus 130 is provided with a slope 332 for refracting the light from the modulating part of the projector 100 having the opening part 401 and the black matrix part 402, and a flat surface 331 for transmitting the light from the modulating part; and the slope 332 is inclined so as to guide the projection image from the opening part 401 to the projection image of the black matrix part 402, on the screen 116 away from the slope 332 at a prescribed distance L, and an angle θ is formed by the slope 332 and a transparent substrate 333 formed in a direction nearly vertical with respect to the optical axis AX. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
