<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the coordinates position detection without causing detection lack even at the case when drawing in which state of detection is broken frequently on a display panel is performed. <P>SOLUTION: In a method for detecting coordinate position which scans detecting beams at prescribed scanning domain along horizontal direction and vertical direction to the display surface and which detects the position of a light shielding object on the display surface corresponding to scanning position where the detecting beams is shielded. At the initial detection of the light shielding object, the scan is performed at a first scanning domain corresponding to the width of the display surface (S1), while the detection state of the shielding object is continuing, the scan is performed at a second scanning domain whose scanning domain is near the newest detection position (S2). After the detection state of the light shielding object breaks, scan is performed at a third scanning domain wider than the second scanning domain and narrower than the first scanning domain limiting to fixed time based on the detection position where the detection state is continuing as reference (S5). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
