PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video recording and reproducing apparatus whereby a reproducing apparatus separated from the main body can make video recording reservation settings. SOLUTION: When the video recording reservation settings are made by the reproducing apparatus 2 and a memory of the reproducing apparatus 2 stores video recording reservation information, a warning indication is exhibited to a user until the reproducing apparatus 2 is connected to a recording apparatus 1 and the video recording reservation information is transferred to the recording apparatus 1.
