PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide tilt adjusting fittings having an automatic swingable device for a seat back of an automobile, which tilt adjusting fittings can secure the fixing of the fittings in the axial direction when a transverse force is applied to the fittings. SOLUTION: In the tilt adjusting fittings having the automatic swingable device for the seat back of the automobile, a tilt adjusting element (2) has a lower part (3) and an upper part (4) which can swing with respect to the lower part within the tilt adjustable range and can engage with the lower part at the position of the swung angle. A swingable supporting element (5) to be attached to the seat back has an engaging means (26) which can engage with the upper part (4) so as to be disengageable and so as not to relatively turn. Further, an adapter (6), which can swing with respect to the tilt adjusting element (2) after disengagement within the range of the tilt, and is connected with the lower part (3) of the tilt adjusting element (2) so as not to relatively turn, is attached to the seat frame of the seat, and the swingable supporting element (5) is connected to a supporting element part (7) so as not to relatively turn.
