<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic powder molding machine for realizing a radial orientation in a tile-shape magnet reaching as far as arc ends in transverse field molding, and to provide a permanent magnet. <P>SOLUTION: The metal mold for use for forming a field in molded magnetic powder comprises a die for forming a cavity having a tile-shape cross section constituted of two arcs which are an outer arc looking outward and an inner arc looking inward, a punch interlockable with a press for compression inside the cavity, and at least two magnetic cores installed inside the die to extend along the outer arc and the inner arc of the cavity.
