PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for stably obtaining many piezoelectric resonators with less variation in the mechanical strength and less dispersion in the resonance frequency without the need for a case board with a complicated structure or the like. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for piezoelectric resonators includes the steps of: preparing a motherboard 7 including a rectangular piezoelectric substrate 4 having length and width directions and first and second mother vibration electrodes 5, 6 formed on upper and lower sides of the piezoelectric substrate and opposed to each other in the middle of the piezoelectric substrate 4 in the width direction; and obtaining individual piezoelectric resonators by cutting the motherboard 7 in the width direction, and in the case of cutting the motherboard 7, a segment width of the piezoelectric resonator is changed along the length direction of the motherboard 7.
