<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system and a projection video display device with which densification of a light flux is performed. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting system 1 is provided with four LED arrays 51. The LED arrays 51 are constituted by arranging a plurality of LEDs 5 in two columns in one plane. In a supporting member 11, a supporting plane 11a inclined to an X axis by 45°in the counterclockwise direction and a mirror plane (regular reflection plane) 11b parallel to the X axis are alternately formed. The LED arrays 51 are provided on the supporting plane 11a. Main light beam axes of each LED 5 are perpendicular to the supporting plane 11a. Light emitted from each LED 5 is regularly reflected on the mirror plane 11b. In addition, the supporting member 11 is constituted of materials such as metal having excellent thermal conductivity. A regular reflection member 13 consists of a mirror plane member, receives the light reflected on the mirror plane 11b and reflects it in the Y axis direction (the Y axis is perpendicular to the X axis). In addition, a perpendicular mirror plane part 13a having a similar reflection function as the mirror plane 11b is formed on an end part (non-emitting side) of the regular reflection member 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
