A polyester woven fabric having a total cover factor of 1500 or more and a weight per square-meter of 45 g/m<2> or less, which comprises a polyester multi-filament A yarn having a total fineness of 25 dtex (desi tex) or less and a single yarn fineness of 2.0 dtex or less and a multi-filament B yarn having a total fineness of 35 dtex or more, and has respective yarn arrangements in the warp and the weft directions wherein a yarn constitution ratio of B yarn/A yarn is 1/4 to 1/20 (the ratio of numbers of yarn), and a pitch between A yarn and B yarn is 7 mm or less. The above polyester woven fabric uses a multi-filament having a fineness less than that of a conventional polyester multi-filament, is lightweight, has a high density and is soft, and also can exhibit satisfactory tear strength.
