<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the bending strength of a lightweight golf club shaft. <P>SOLUTION: The region with a head side distal end 11 of the golf club shaft 10 made of a layered body of fiber-reinforced prepregs 21-25 as a head side end and with the position apart from the head side end by 400-700 mm as a grip side end is a distal end reinforced region S, and a straight layer B with the reinforced fiber F23 oriented at the angle from 0 to 10°in the axial direction of the shaft is disposed on the outside of a bias layer A with reinforced fibers F21 and F22 oriented at an angle from 25 to 65°in the axial direction of the shaft.
