MODEM, WIRELESS COMMUNICATION APPARATUS, AND CHANNEL SELECTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of reducing a time required for start of communication and capable of efficiently selecting a signal channel. SOLUTION: A wireless communication terminal 10 is provided with a MODEM 12 including: a modulation-demodulation section 21; a carrier sensing section 22; and a signal channel selection 23. The modulation-demodulation section 21 modulates / demodulates packets corresponding to the signal channel. The carrier sensing section 22 senses carriers transmitted through the signal channel. The signal channel selection 23 switches the signal channel among a plurality of wireless channels on the basis of a sensing result. In a system wherein a plurality of the wireless communication terminals 10 each configured as above are provided, switching of the same signal channel is synchronously carried out.
