PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver capable of eliminating a state to the utmost that a program video image during viewing is not displayed at the acquisition processing of program information. SOLUTION: When detecting depression of an EPG button during display of a video image of a received program, a control section 8 starts processing to temporarily store the program video image received at present to a video storage memory 10, and displays the video image under storage and after storage in small quantity (in a way of single frame step). The control section 8 switches a channel for acquiring each station SI after the end of storage processing and carries out the processing to return to a user view channel after the acquisition of the SI. When returning to the user view channel, the control section 8 again starts the storage processing of the received video data and the video display in a way of single frame step and carries out channel switching processing to acquire the SI of a succeeding station.
