PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide excavation and washing equipment which can excavate and surely discharge sediment in the whole area even if an excavation area is large, and which can efficiently wash a wall surface. SOLUTION: A chamber 29 and a slurry discharge pipe 33, which is connected to an upper end of the chamber 29, are provided in a body 3 of the excavation and washing equipment 1. A main pipe 21 for a lower jet, which is connected to a lower jet nozzle 15 positioned near the lower end of the body 3, is provided almost throughout the vertical length of the body 3, and a main pipe 25 for an upper jet, which is connected to an upper jet nozzle 13 positioned near an upper end of the body 3, is provided in the upper end of the body 3. The excavation and washing equipment 1 is inserted into a joint 43 of a steel pipe 35; a jet 51 is emitted from the lower jet nozzle 15, so that the sediment 49 in the joint 43 can be excavated; and the slurry 53 in the chamber 29 is discharged to the outside of the body 3 via the slurry discharge pipe 33, while a jet 55 is emitted from the upper jet nozzle 13, so that a wall surface 57 of the joint 43 can be washed.
