<p>An actuator for pickup, a pickup device, a recording medium drive device, and a method of manufacturing the actuator for pickup. In the actuator for pickup, the end parts of a plurality of, i.e., five or more of suspensions (550A) to (550F) are positioned on a virtual circle (X) in a plane formed by projecting on the plane including both a focusing direction and a tracking direction. A rolling center (O) specified as the center of the virtual circle (X) is aligned with all three, two, or one of the center (Os) of the weight of a lens holder (600), the center (Os) of the drive force of the lens holder (600), and the center (Os) of the translational force of the suspensions (550A) to (550F). Since the rolling center (O) is aligned with all three, two, or one of these centers (Os), torque does not occur on the lens holder (600) and, therefore, unnecessary resonance can be prevented from occurring.</p> |
