A goods storage apparatus for the delivery of goods to a user-specified location, the apparatus comprises a crate (1) having an inlet (6) and outlet (7) for temperature­ controlled fluid and a crate-receiving station (40) comprising means (44, 46, 47) for supplying temperature-controlled fluid to the inlet (6) of the crate (1) when located on the station (40), wherein the crate (1) has located therein a container (10) in which goods are locatable, at least one wall of the container (10) being distant from an adjacent inner wall of the crate (1) to allow the passage of temperature-controlled fluid between the container wall and the adjacent inner wall of the crate whereby the temperature of air within the container (10) is controllable.
