A unison ring (40, fig 1) is used via lever arms (25, fig 1) to vary the angle of a number of stator vanes (20, fig 1) in the compressor (10, fig 1) of a gas turbine engine. The ring (40, fig 1) is made up of two ring halves 45,55 which may have their ends tapered and serrated 258,248, the interconnection of which, allow for a more secure connection to be made, when the two halves are joined together. Bolts 285 are also used to strengthen the joint. Alternatively, the ends may have hooks (390, 395, fig 8) which interconnect to form a joint.
