PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cooling method for saving space and energy while reducing pressure drop. SOLUTION: This air cooling device comprises a cooling unit having an approximately rectangular parallelepiped oblique honeycomb formed with a plurality of corrugated plates laminated and stored in a case having opening portions in only two opposed faces, the opening portions in the two opposed faces being arranged as an upper face opening portion and a lower face opening portion in a vertical duct in an approximately horizontal direction, a cooling water supply means, a water receiving part, and a blowing means. The oblique honeycomb has a flushing cut portion formed in the lower end opening of each cell cavity portion or a flushing pin attached to the lower end of each cell cavity portion. In the cooling unit, the height between both upper and lower faces of the oblique honeycomb is 100-600mm and the oblique angle of each cell is 30-80°. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
