摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the isolation, creation or directed evolution of a gene encoding a novel molecule capable of having a desired interaction with a substrate of interest. SOLUTION: In a method for selecting a molecule catalyzing cleavage of peptides, wherein the method comprises steps of (a) expressing a selection molecule including different putative molecules in a population of host cells and a recognition sequence binding to a generated peptide which is formed by cleavage of a starting peptide through molecules evolved from the putative molecule, (b) subjecting the population of host cells to mutagenizing conditions and selection conditions to select a replicator or a host cell so that at least one replicator and/or cell in the population undergoes at least one replication cycle and the multiple putative molecules evolve into a molecule catalyzing the cleavage of peptide, and (c) identifying the host cells expressing the molecule catalyzing the cleavage of peptide by monitoring the increase of proliferation of cells and/or replicators.
