The flow regulator (1) has a housing in which a ring-form throttling component (3) of elastic material is provided in a through-passage (2). The housing has an inner movable section (6) which has at least one outwards protruding control element (7) on its outer circumference. The inner section of the housing on both sides of its control element is tightly encompassed by an outer section (8,9) of the housing. The outer sections are stationary in relation to one another. The inner movable section supports a control core (4), and the throttling component is retained on one of the outer sections of the housing.
