A cross member for a heald frame consists of a profiled extrusion (15), e.g. of light alloy, with an additional reinforcing member (21) attached with adhesive. During the period while the adhesive is setting, the reinforcement (21) is held in position in a recess of complementary shape by means of suitable retaining lugs (22, 23), which also exert some initial pressure. - The reinforcement fits tightly into the recess, whose walls also includes some projections, e.g. ribs, that define the gap available for the adhesive to ensure its correct thickness. An escape is provided for excessive adhesive.
