COLOR FILTER SUBSTRATE, BASE MATERIAL FOR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter substrate which has relatively high display characteristics when being used as a material of a liquid crystal panel for display and with which it is made easy to obtain a liquid crystal display device which can maintain desired display characteristics and has a relatively wide temperature range.

SOLUTION: On a base material having light transmissivity, a birefringent layer is formed of three-dimensionally bridged polymerizable crystal and on the birefringent layer, a color filter layer is formed to obtain a color filter substrate.
