PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design support system and method for a system LSI for preventing redesigning that returns from a downstream step of design to an upstream step. SOLUTION: There are provided: a source code storage device 1 for storing a source code of a system LSI; a compiler 4 for generating a performance code by reading and compiling the source code, and for storing the performance code in a performance code storage device 5; a static analysis section 2 for reading a source code, calculating a size of a stored member parameter and outputting the size as a result of static analysis; a test data storage device 6 for storing test data of the system LSI; a dynamic analysis section 7 for performing the operation simulation of the system LSI, based on the performance code and the test data, calculating the total survival time of the member parameter and outputting the time as a result of dynamic analysis; and a storage cost calculation section 9 for calculating storage cost of the system LSI based on the result of dynamic analysis.
