PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform access control in each XML element even when a user attribute or the XML element of an access control object is added, deleted or changed. SOLUTION: A client 1 sends a request to an XML document management server 2. The XML document management server 2 retrieves whether the XML element of the control object is present in the requested XML document or not, acquires a control object URI, and inquires of a user attribute management server 4 whether may display the XML element of the control object or not. The user attribute management server 4 returns OK to the XML document management server 2 when a user ID is included in an attribute permitted to the inquired authority object URI, and returns NG when not included.
