PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multifunction device in which an MFP can be used widely by not carrying a power cord but carrying only a USB cable when the number of handy type multifunction devices is increased and the MFP can be used easily. SOLUTION: The multifunction device applicable to a plurality of uses comprises a means for detecting connection between an USB interface and a PC, a means for detecting connection with a power supply line, and a control means for selecting an available function depending on connection detection state between the USB interface and the PC and connection detection state with an AC power supply line.
