PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve cooling performance of a belt type power transmission device by devising a shape of an exhaust duct. SOLUTION: A belt chamber case is provided with an air introducing port taking air into the belt chamber, an air discharge port discharging air taken into the belt chamber out of the belt chamber, and a duct leading air flow along rotation direction of the secondary sheave to the air discharge port. An opening of the duct is formed close to a secondary sheave. A first end part on the secondary sheave side of the end parts of openings of the duct exists on rotating shaft line side of the secondary sheave from an equivalent line of an end part on the primary sheave side of the secondary sheave, a secondary end part on a primary sheave side in end parts of the openings exists on rotating shaft line side of a primary sheave from the equivalent line and the second end part is positioned on a center side of the belt chamber case than the first end part.
