摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a droplet, which adheres to the inside of a duct for supplying humidified air to the vicinity of a nozzle of a recording head or for sucking air near the nozzle, from falling in a recording operation. SOLUTION: A humidification and recovery mechanism 20 comprises a supply duct 4 for supplying humidified air to the vicinity of an ejection surface 2 of the recording head 1, and an air intake duct 9 for recovering the supplied and humidified air along with an ink mist. The supply duct 9 is provided with a wiper 13 for wiping an inner wall of the duct 9. The mechanism 20 is normally operated, so that the droplet 14 adhering to the inside of the duct 9 is discharged into a cap 3 by means of the wiper 13 in such a state that an intake port 10 is covered with the cap 3, before the droplets 14 such as the ink mist adhering to the inside of the duct 9 amounts to a large quantity by making the mechanism 20 perform a normal operation.
