PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle for maintaining comfortableness of an occupant and improving reliability of a compressor, even if using alternative refrigerant HFC-152a. SOLUTION: In this air conditioner for the vehicle, the coolant HFC-152a circulates in a circulating passage. In the circulating passage, the compressor 26, a condenser 28 and an evaporator 32 are successively inserted from the viewpoint of a flow direction of the refrigerant. The air conditioner is provided with an overheating degree adjusting means 30 for monitoring an evaporating state of the refrigerant not on an outlet side of the evaporator 32 but on an inlet side 18 of the compressor 26 to have a prescribed overheating degree and adjusting refrigerant flow amount within the circulating passage.
