PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge treatment method using gypsum waste capable of inexpensively treating sludge and gypsum waste to produce a solidified matter high in strength and hard to elute heavy metals contained in sludge. SOLUTION: In the sludge treatment method wherein gypsum waste is ground to obtain gypsum main substance contained in the gypsum waste and baked gypsum produced by heating the gypsum main substance is mixed with sludge, sludge matter, which comprises at least either one of building sludge, soft/weak soil and factory produced sludge, and baked gypsum are mixed and water is added to and kneaded with the obtained mixture to obtain lumpy or granular solidified matter.
