<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coaxial cable excellent in closely contacting property, and a manufacturing method of the same. <P>SOLUTION: The coaxial cable 10 is composed of center conductors 12, an insulation cove layer 14, shield conductors 16, and a protection cover layer 18. The cover layer 14 formed so as to cover the outer periphery of the conductors 12 has a ring-shaped part 20 covering the outer periphery of the conductors 12 and three column-shaped parts 22 radially extended from the sing-shaped part 20a in the direction of diameter. The shield conductor 16 is composed of hollow and compressed strand wire. The strand wire is formed into hollow-shape by passing a plurality of elemental wires 26 through a compression dice while twisting them in one direction. At this time, as a part of outer periphery of the elemental wires 26 is deformed and twisted, shield wires tightly contact with each other like a stone fence, and made to have a stable structure (arch structure).
