PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a microcrystal grain, which produces a crystal grain, in a polycrystal, as a microcrystal grain, particularly a method for producing a microcrystal grain capable of retaining a crystal grain shape in a sinter, and a method for producing a composition in which the microcrystal grain has been dispersed and stabilized. SOLUTION: This method for producing a microcrystal grain is characterized in that a polycrystal with a substance, capable of absorbing light, segregated in grain boundaries is irradiated with a laser beam to cause a failure along the grain boundaries and thus to produce a microcrystal grain. A method for producing a liquid or solid with the microcrystal grain dispersed and stabilized therein, a transparent luminescent liquid for biosensing, and a transparent luminescent solid are also provided.
