<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient method for producing a peptide and to provide a peptide-producing protein, etc., therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The peptide is produced by reacting an amine component with a carbonyl component in the presence of at least one of of the following proteins (A) and (B).
